Renaud “Reginald”on the death of his father being unable to leave the Island as he was the Govenor of the Kings Castles there and certain other causes,asks of his king a specael favour Respites Homage for one year, providing he preforms the accustomed services.He complied with this and did Homage to Edward on the 8th day of June 1328.at Amiens,thereupon letters sent to Sir John des Roches Govnor of the Isles stateing that homage had been given and confirmed all lands and tenements which his father held in capital at the time of his death.He was granted by King Edward the Third ,The Fife de Meleches, Edward had invaded the Conentin in 1346 and given the castle at Carteret to Sir John Chandos one of his Knights,before the,death in 1349 to the Father of the then holder,his son.
The Fief and Manor of St Ouen was held by Renaud by homage and the relief when due ,was Nine Lives
Tournois,bound to serve the King in time of war at Gouray Castle at his own expense,for the term of two parts of forty days;and had to provide his own horses and armour.The Wardship of the manor during the minority of the seigneur was held by the crown.
