The family were evacuated from Guernsey i 1940 due to the german invasion and did not return till 1946
Charlie was to follow his ,Education Langroyd Jnr ,Brighouse Yorkshire. on the way back to Guernsey a Old Lady Died on the Boat 
during a storm  on the way back Charlie was  age 11 pushed over the toilet door to open up and get her out .
Family resettled in Guernsey he going to  Amherst & Vauvert Schools Guernsey

Posted at the time of President Surcano went to rescue of a wounded member of the team by Helicopter  from the Jungle they only just made it out due to the weight of the wounded man of 40 Commando The British Goverment gave him a GSM ,no in Borneo  He served as Medic after he returned to Singapore he was given a Compassionate Discharge 1967 After return to UK the Malayan Goverment  P.J.M.end of service 1967

Returned to the Uk  took brother Mick on a walk along Hadrian's wall  just like being in the army no easy
coach trip a week of Roman Soldering ,
After the Army  to London Where went work for M.O.D.  supplies in London  and the London Ambulance Service 
Returned to Guernsey to raise his children  at this time he went back in to Hospital Work  A Operating Tech at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital Guernsey
Then he took a fancy working in and going to Austraila over land on Foot  took months as his plans as the Children will tell you it was not optional ,
as they say in Yorkshire " Look to thee sen "

ironic in so much as when he went on to live in Ipswich again in a Hospital  as a Plumber
for this he never trained just read the books , and he knew which was the Oxygen  and air pipes were as he had been in the Theatre

He decided to go off again on the canals of Europe when they had had their fill he went Back to Linda she has a BIG Heart and took him in There was room at her INN

A life of Adventure and mis Adventure  but he did it his way " c'est La Vie mon Fere"
