L/C/67 Pipon Family Papers L/C/67/B1/7 Case between James Pipon eldest son and principal heir of Philip Pipon and Elizabeth de Carteret who by her first marriage was widow of Philip de Carteret son of Francis de Carteret by Anne Seale his wife, appellant and Elias Dumaresq eldest son and principal heir of Elias Dumaresq and Frances de Carteret, Charles Lempriere by right of Elizabeth Corbet his wife principal heir of Anne de Carteret her grandmother, Anne Pipon widow, guardian of the heirs of de la Riviere de Carteret and George Bandinel by right of Elizabeth de Carteret his late wife, respondants. Concerns the dower of Elizabeth de Carteret, the appellant's mother 1730-1740

The above is evidently legal action between the heirs of Francis de Carteret and Anne Seale. The Armorial gives the daughters of Francis de Carteret and Anne Seale as

1) Frances = Elias Dumaresq;
2) Anne de Carteret = James Corbet;
3) De la Riviere = Daniel Messervy
4) Elizabeth = George Bandinel.

The legal record indicates that the Armorial is accurate in terms of the relationships it shows - with the respondents being the descendants of the daughters of Francis de Carteret and Anne Seale.

The Armorial indicates that Elizabeth Corbet (wife of Charles Lempriere) was the granddaughter of Anne and James Corbet, and also granddaughter of Elizabeth de Carteret and George Bandinel.

The Armorial states that Elizabeth Bandinel (daughter of Elizabeth (de C) and George Bandinel), was married firstly to her cousin James Corbet (son of Anne de C and James Corbet), before she married Charles Hilgrove.

The date of 1730-1740 indicates that Elizabeth, wife of George Bandinel was deceased by then. Chris House has done considerable work on the Bandinel family, compiled from various sources, including the Armorial. He has 1727 as a date of decease for Elizabeth (de Carteret) Bandinel, although I do not know his source for that.
