Arthur DeCarteret of 11 Dunstable Road, North section died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's
Hospital in Lowell at the age of 77 years.
Mr. DeCarteret was a granite dealer for oover forty years prior to his retirement in 1940. He was a native of
the North section but lived in Tyngsboro for several years.
Mr, DeCarteret was the son of the late John and Mary Ann (LeMasurier) DeCarteret. He is survived by two
sons, Edwin L. DeCarteret of Philadelphia, Penn and Clarence B. DeCarteret of North Chelmsford; three
sisters, Mrs. Mary Roberts of Tyngsboro, Mrs. Theophilus Machon on North Chelmsford and Mrs. Ethel
Sanders of Lowell; two grand-daughters, Miss Grace DeCarteret of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Virginia Drew of
Westford; two great-grandchildren, Nancy and Robert Drew both of Westford; and several nieces and
nephews. Mr. DeCarteret was a member of Gospel Hall of North Chelmsford and had served as one of the
Elders on that church for more than a quarter of a century.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the Morse Funeral Home and interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in the North Section.
