Thank you for your responses and for fixing the error - this is a potted history:
My father died on 24 December 2012. My mother had died on 17 October 2005.
There are three daughters - Sarnia, Sue and Wendy and we all have 'de Carteret' as a middle name in honour of my mother's family.
We were all born in Guernsey after WWII - Mum had been in Guernsey during the Occupation while Dad was serving in the RAF as a Spitfire Photographic Reconnaissance pilot. They brought forward their wedding by three weeks to ensure they were married before Dad left the island, but then of course they didn't see each other for five years.
We left Guernsey for England in 1951, then emigrated to Australia in 1957, where we have been ever since. There are 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren so far as descendants of Ruby Ellen de Carteret and Cecil Arthur Tardif here in Australia.
I am hoping some of us can join in a future 'reunion' event and so am looking forward to hearing more in due course.
