On July 9th my Uncle “Bill” Norman Squares de Carteret passed away in his home in Tampa. He was my mom’s only sibling and younger by 10 years. He was our fun, hip, Datsun sports car driving, Peanuts loving, triathalon-ing uncle. He was our music educator in sending us mix-tapes every year! He didnt have kids and my brother isn’t in facebook so only a few of my cousins on FB will know who he is. My mom and I went to Tampa last week and said goodbye in private at a funeral home. His ashes are now in Norman and will reside next to his mom and aunt at St. Michael’s. I found these photos in my college freshman album which I think paint a picture of what he was like.
