Henry -Fredrick ,took the name and arms of Carteret ,by virtue of his majesty’s royal sign manual,pursuant to the will of the late Earl Granville.On the 19th of April 1768 he was made one
of the Masters of his Majesty’s Household which he resigned in Dec 1770 on being made postmaster
General,which he retained till 23 June 1789 and was advanced to the peerage by patent,Creation dated 29 Jan 1784.cr him Baron Carteret of Hawnes in the Co of Bedford. 24.George iii , He remained unmarried.
